#ANDEpic Facilitators RecruitmenT OPPORTUNITIES

Terra Nova Productions, the intercultural theatre company behind 2019's ANDdream, is building something even bigger: ANDepic, a large-scale, community-led production for Ards and North Down inspired by the Odyssey - a hero's journey home, and the glories and monsters met along the way. Beginning this summer and culminating in a grand spectacle in March 2027, ANDepic will be written, performed, and created by the people of the Borough, with professional intercultural artists working alongside them every step of the way.

We're now recruiting facilitators across six art forms (drama, dance, choral, make-up, costume and set & props) to lead autumn taster workshops, welcome large numbers of participants, and help shape a genuinely co-designed piece of theatre.

Terra Nova is an intercultural theatre company created and run by immigrants - we are keen to employ people who are also newer arrivals.  Experience in other countries is considered an asset, as is, also, living within and familiarity with the Borough.

What we're looking for (all roles)

  • Experience delivering workshops or sessions in your art form, ideally with community, amateur, or intergenerational groups.

  • An interest in intercultural work and community storytelling.

  • Comfort working in a co-design process, by which we mean able to build sessions around what participants bring, rather than delivering a fixed lesson plan.

  • Willingness to facilitate for participants with English as a second language, including working alongside translators where needed.

  • Strong communications skills, even if English isn’t your first language.

  • Awareness and sensitivity around requests such as female-only spaces, and a genuinely inclusive, welcoming approach to people of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, and abilities.

  • For the support facilitator roles, we are looking for people with a strong interest in the relevant artform, who are very organised and enjoy making things happen. You should have some experience of leading groups or devising new work, and be a good communicator, even if English isn't your first language.

  • Willing to undergo AccessNI check for participant Safeguarding purposes.

Terra Nova is committed to equality of opportunity in recruitment and engagement. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.

Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.

Specific to Choir and Dance Facilitators

For these two roles, we are especially keen to hear from facilitators who already run an existing choir or dance group and would be willing to bring that group into ANDepic, as well as welcoming new participants to the group for this project. We're aiming for large numbers of participants across the project, so partnering with established groups and their lead facilitators is central to how we're building this project.

If that's you, we'd love to hear about your group as well as your own experience.

APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THE DRAMA TUTOR: September 4th, 2026
