The Final 2025 Breakthrough Opportunity

Our summer 2025 Breakthrough Opportunity took the form of a a free audition intensive, funded by the Foyle Foundation. This special initiative offered 15 coveted places on a four-day intensive designed to refine and enhance audition technique, getting actors in front of industry casting people, both at a showcase and on line. This was Belfast-based opportunity for Irish global majority, immigrant and white Irish indigenous emerging actors.  It offered participants the chance to:

• learn from theatre and film professionals working in Dublin, Belfast & London

• enjoy a masterclass with casting director Carla Stronge working in film, TV & theatre

• be showcased for leading NI professionals making 100s of casting decisions every year

• take away good quality stills and a film of their live audition for their showreel

The workshops were warm and welcoming but they will also challenged participants to grow as artists. Activities were organised across two weekends - August 23rd and 24th, and September 13th and 14th., 2025 The industry showcase was on 14th September 2025 and was followed by a reception for actors to mingle with attendees.

Actors applied by sending us an email clearing stating their name, email and telephone number, and containing links to two videos:

1. a recent audition self tape

2. a short video explaining why they feel this is the right opportunity for them
