Page to Stage Development Workshop - June 8th, 2025 (10am-5pm)
This unique workshop was requested by our Breakthrough Steering Group, was developed by them, and offers writers, directors and actors the chance to engage in a hands-on day of development.
We are looking for six two-hander scenes of no more than 8-10 minutes to workshop. Over the course of one day, 12 participant actors will stage these scenes under the guidance of an established director, assisted by two shadow directors, who will provide notes, advice, and multiple options for approaching the material. Everyone benefits from something that mimics a real R&D! This workshop gets participants meaningful time with our Artistic Director, who will be casting and commissioning up to six shows in the next 18 months.
Writers will gain insight into how their work looks off the page, allowing for deeper refinement and development. Actors will benefit from practical experience, experimenting with new techniques and interpretations in a supportive environment. Directors will have a chance to learn on the hoof.
Participants will form the audience, watching each other's scenes, observing notes, creating a rare opportunity for live observational study, seeing how different perspectives and choices shape a piece of work in real time.
This is a collaborative session focused on growth, exploration, and skill-sharing, designed to benefit all creatives involved.
