The Story So Far

Terra Nova Productions' Artistic Director, Andrea Montgomery, has travelled to  Macau since 2007 to undertake a  three-year drama project with young people: Macau Young Creative Voices.  The project is developed with MacWac  Theatre Company.

The aim of the project is to create a well-managed, artistically excellent theatre production on the theme of Macau’s “Decolonisation”. The production will be written, performed, produced, and marketed by our young participants.

Fundraising for Macau and Brazil

Andrea Montgomery is currently fundraising for her work in Macau and Brazil.  She will complete for her third trip to Macau in June, to work with MYCV on the performance and programme, and will then accompany the group to Belem, Northern Brazil to direct and teach for three weeks in the city on the amazon.

Background to MYCV

In May 2009, supported by the British Council, MYCV Producer Kami  Latvine-Leslie visited Belfast and met with Youth Action,  Bruiser Theatre Company, Replay and the University of Ulster, with a view to  creating a Northern Irish dimension to the project. MYCV have been invited to work with a group in Brazil as part of the IDEA world congress in 2010 and are currently developing the artistic content for presentation in Belem this July.

MYCV run a year round programme of events which Terra Nova supports on line, and are currently engaged in a writing workshop to develop material for their July show.  They have also secured and are refurbishing their own rehearsal and workshop space.
