The Jared Diamond Theatre Project asks audiences 'What would you rather die for, than give up?'
Inspired by the work of renowned environmentalist and historian Jared Diamond Terra Nova Productions is creating a piece of environmental theatre in English & Chinese, featuring music, film, animation & puppetry. Information in Chinese is available below.
Are there some things so important to us that we would rather die than change them? And how does this affect our choices in the face of the global warming crisis?
In a response to the global environmental challenge, Terra Nova Productions is gathering international practitioners to develop stories of human beings in the past, present and future who faced the challenge and lived or died by their choices.
Our Chinese partner is Chung Ying Theatre of Hong Kong. The production will be about 60% text based and an education project runs along side the main production.
Project Development Timetable
Workshops: Nov 2009, spring 2010.
1st Performance: Hong Kong/UK Autumn 2010/spring 2011
Chinese & International Tour: Autumn 2011, throughout 2012.
