Try Set, Costumes, Props, Lights, sound

The DREAM will be the largest Shakespeare event ever organised in Ards & North Down.  If you’re well organised, love the theatre and want to be part of the DREAM, but you’re not a performer, then please consider signing up to be part of the backstage team.

We'll be building our own version of a 'Globe' theatre in the Queen’s Hall Newtownards, working towards performances May 2-5, 2019. Talented people will be need to create everything - from hefty set building, to fine fairy mask making. Costume and make-up volunteers will be needed too. Volunteers must be over 18 but we may be able to accommodate younger volunteers if parents, guardians or group leaders sign up.

You will need to commit a minimum of 26 hours, but we can be flexible about when. Important dates include (you don’t have to be available for all of them). We recommend that you think of working with us for about 4 hours on the days you commit to…

  • Working on masks, fairy costume elements, painting Titania’s bower at Movilla High School Newtown Ards on Sunday 24th and 31st May, from 1:30 to 5:30pm

  • At least one training evening during April

  • Saturdays, including 13th, 20th and 27th April

  • Sunday as well, including 6th, 14th, 28th April

  • You will want to participate in at least one feedback session on either the Saturady or Sunday of the performance week

Things will get wildly exciting from the technical rehearsal on Tuesday the 30th of April through to Sunday the 5th of May, when we plan a big wrap party after the final matinee!

Sign up to find out more - and don’t worry, signing up doesn’t commit you to anything!
